School Connect

We offer support services to K-12 students in four school districts in Pierce County: Puyallup, Peninsula, Orting, and White River.

In 2021, we served more than 500 students with these services:

  • Therapy
  • Case management
  • Group sessions
  • Family support

“It has been so helpful to have CLR in our school this year. I provide as much support as possible for students, but I am not trained in mental health and am not qualified to help some students where they need it most. Several times this year, families have reached out to me looking for resources and it was a huge advantage to be able to refer them to CLR in the school." - A school staff member

The School Connect program is funded by:

Family Advocates

Family Advocates is a service for parents and caregivers of children who are receiving services at Comprehensive Life Resources.

Family advocates are a unique support to families and have many shared experiences in parenting, navigating life’s curve-balls, and overcoming personal challenges. Our family advocates are here to support in growing skills, navigating systems and finding one’s own sense of community.

Family advocates provide:

  • Emotional support
  • Community resources
  • Individual and group support
  • Essential information regarding a child's strengths, needs, and interests crucial to developing effective transitional components

Life Connections

Life Connections is a city-funded program that provides mental health treatment to those who are unfunded. The Life Connections program offers free counseling to children and families regardless of funding or insurance. Each person gets 4-6 counseling sessions and access to housing, employment, and case management services.

Family Advocates and Peer Supports are individuals or family members of persons in recovery who have chosen to work with others living with behavioral health conditions. They offer support, hope, advocacy, and role modeling utilizing our unique strengths and perspectives gained through our own journeys in recovery. Parents whose children are enrolled in services can meet with family advocates for support or resources.
